The E39 540i/6 goes 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and 14.0 in the 1/4 mile. ALL that extra horsepower in the M5, ALL the extra cost of M-specific parts, ALL the extra cost of fuel and bigger FWIW, I am sure the hose has been replaced at this point, but I believe the part number is 64 21 8 391 013 and the other hose attached to the manifold and going back to the firewall is 64 21 8 391 005. Both around $80.00 from your local BMW dealer and $5.00 to $10.00 from good aftermarket parts places. The M62TUB44 was the epitome of the V8 engine in the BMW line-up. It had loads of low-down torque (with a flatter curve), was more fuel efficient and produced much lower emissions.
